They're finally here! The Clan Operations feature for Call of Duty Elite members has finally launched and will start in the next few days!
The much anticipated feature is available now, and Clan leaders can enlist in Operations now, with the first two beginning on Friday.
Clan Operations allows users to rank up their clan, something that would previously require a one time 500xp 'Founder Boost'. Clan leaders can enlist in Operations via the Program Guide located in the 'Compete' section of Elite. While the main purpose of Clan Ops is to give clans the ability to unlock new things by leveling up, for example a gold clan tag or customizable in-game title, there will also be various real world prizes up for grabs. It should also be noted that while joining a clan, and participating in Clan Operations is available for all Elite members, in order to rank and help your clan in Operations you need to be a Premium member. The top six performing clan members get their scores averaged and represent the clan on the leaderboard.
As many will know, there has been widespread criticism of Beachhead for not having this feature available at launch, especially as it was paid feature that was listed as being available from day-one in the 'What's Included?' page on the Elite site. Recently, however, it was confirmed that Clan Operations were in the final testing stage, and to re-iterate this, an overview was posted on the official Modern Warfare 3 forums.
With Clan Operations beginning, it has never been a better time to join a Clan, and Digital Warfare 24/7 have two that may interest you -- one for Xbox 360 and one for PlayStation 3. If you're interested in joining, take a look at this thread on our forums. Do you have clan of your own? Check out the Compete section of ELITE to enlist your clan in "Sticky Fingers" and "Flagged for Removal", which are focused on Domination.
