Max Payne 3 Sees Another Delay

Max Payne 3 becomes the latest delay victim

Those of you looking to get back into the action as notorious New Yorker Max Payne will be waiting a little longer than expected says Sam Houser, Founder of Max Payne developer Rockstar Games.

Announced on January 17th, Houser stated that the delay is required to assure that the paying customer gets the best product for their money. He claimed that "We do not take changes to our release schedule lightly, and this short delay will ensure that Max Payne 3 delivers the highest quality, groundbreaking entertainment experience that is expected from our Company."

It is expected that this move by Rockstar may have unforeseen consequences on partner company Take-Two. Due to the delay, it is now expected that Take-Two may very well see a loss in 2012 rather than a profit, with their overall net profit anticipated to fall a significant amount in the considerable future. While Rockstar and Take-Two have assured gamers that the moveback was completely necessary for the product to be as perfect as it can be, it's not an unknown or particularly unexpected move for the game company. Many of Rockstar's more recent efforts, including LA Noire and Red Dead Redemption, saw considerable delays that forced gamers to wait longer than originally anticipated to play the games they know and love, while just last week Ghost Recon: Future Soldier received the same treatment, with its release date being pushed from 31st March to 25th May.

The new release dates for Max Payne 3 are as follows: North America will receive their versions for Xbox and PS3 first on May 15th, while international release is slated for May 18th. The PC version will see release on the 29th May for North America, and the 1st June worldwide.
