Closed Ghost Recon Online Beta begins March 5th

Ghost Recon: Online 'Class' Trailer Screen

The beta for Ghost Recon: Online will kick off on Monday, 5th March, and a new trailer has been released.

Game developer Ubisoft have announced via the official website that the beta for Ghost Recon: Online will begin on March 5th. Ubisoft have said that gamers will be able to 'apply' for access, a strange move considering the beta had already been announced as 'closed' in 2011. A selection of journalists, reviewers for popular gaming websites and other media giants will be allowed access to the beta, while those lucky enough to be granted access will be informed via invitation.

The game - which has been announced to be compatible with the Wii U system - was initially scheduled for release in the latter half of 2011, but was moved back without an explanation and so far has received no official release date for 2012. However, Ubisoft announced that the game would be released following the closed beta, so it's safe to assume we'll be hearing more news about the game after the closed beta arrives in March. People looking to sign up for the beta can do so here.

To get you hyped before then however, check out a new trailer below which details the game's various classes.
